Feel Better, Live Better 2017

Dear new year,

I hope my letter to you finds you well. I may be a bit late, considering New Years was 17 days ago. You see, I’ve had a few things going on but I haven’t gone too far and you’ve definitely been on my mind. None the less, I wanted to go over a few things with you before we get in too deep. You may need to grab a seat, this could take a minute. Maybe grab a cup of warm tea while you’re at it.

Can we talk about the past 12 months first? I’d say that’s a good start.

2016 came and gone and before I knew it, it was time to say goodbye.

52 weeks, 366 days, 8,784 hours gone.

To name a few of my favorite things:

  • Crossing my first full marathon off my bucket list

  • Running my 4th half marathon with Nick right by my side for his very first

  • Logged the most miles I’ve ever done before in training cycles

  • Dipped my toes in the pretty white sand and teal seaside waters not once but twice for two amazing weeks of vacation

  • Sold our 2nd flip house and bought a 3rd

  • Celebrated my first full year in the “blogosphere” with my own corner of the world wide web

  • Checked 4 years off with the other part of my soul

  • Jumped head first into becoming a health and wellness coach

  • Gained my first furry nephew

  • Placed 1st in my age group in a road race

  • Put in the most hours ever on my yoga mat

  • and last but not least, turned the page from 26 to 27.

While climbing some high highs and coming across a few lows, I’ve learned so much from 2016.

You taught me to be strong when I feel like I don’t have it in me anymore, to trust with a deeper trust than I’ve ever known before and to say “no” when I feel it in my bones that something just isn’t for me.

You taught me to leave things better than I found them, but to let go of the things that don’t serve me anymore. You allowed me to embrace the fact that I’m independent to a fault but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. You showed me that having compassion for others is where my heart grows.

You proved to me that giving up when others don’t give back what I gave them isn’t the answer.

And most of all, you taught me that I’m right where I belong.

2016, I’ll cherish the memories you gave me in more ways than one but I’m glad to say goodbye.

I’m ready for a new page and a new chance at 365 days. (Well, minus 17 of course.)

So 2017, what do you have in store for me?

Here’s what I hope:

  • I hope to continue to grow in my faith and my ability to trust in the plan that’s already been laid out before me.

  • I hope to create a bigger and better blogging/health and wellness community that reaches more people than I can even imagine.

  • I hope to fill these pages with inspiration, motivation and most of all love for every single reader that stumbles across my page.

  • I hope to grow stronger physically and mentally than I’ve ever been before with a few plans up my sleeve.

  • I hope to add another marathon to my resume with a few PR’s in half marathons, 10k’s, and 5k’s.

  • I hope to add a few more veggies to my plate as the months go by.

  • I hope to dig our heels deeper into our own little real estate flipping world.

  • Last but not least, I hope to soak up every last drop of the wonderful, amazing, loving, caring and sweet people I have in my life. I don’t want to miss a single second with them because before I know it 2017 will be gone and out the door. And a love letter to another 12 months will be on deck.

Here’s to the next 12 months! Cheers to you! May you be beautiful, crazy, fearless and bold!

Bring it on 2017!

As always, From Chelsea
