Hello and Happy Fri-YAY!! We officially made it to the weekend! Who has big plans for the next few days? I’m just excited it won’t be frigid outside for the next few days so we have high hopes for getting outside for a few good runs/walks while we can! I hope you enjoyed your week and got plenty accomplished on your to-do list! Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today! 🙂
I’ve got 5 amazingly good running documentaries at the bottom of this post, so feel free to scroll past my randomness of the day to get to those below! I can’t wait for you to check them out and tell me what you think of them!
In super exciting news to wrap up the week, I got to experience my first ever spin class today! Spoiler alert: I survived!! I made it out alive and sweatier than ever, and literally LOVED every minute of it. I have always been so nervous about taking spin classes because I’m not the strongest cyclist when it comes to road bikes, so spinning seemed a bit intimidating to me. BUT, we have a new spin studio (Clique Cycle) opening up right in the neighborhood, so I decided I would give it a try! I woke up bright and early this morning at 4:45 to be ready for the 6AM class. (It takes me a little bit to wake up!) I downed my coffee, an extra bottle of water and a banana and hit the door by 5:30 to get there a tiny bit early, being the newbie and all. I was clipped in and ready to go for the 50 minute class and made it the entire way, well…without dying! I was so excited to have my first official spin class under my belt and seriously can’t wait for the next one! It was SO MUCH FUN!! There will be SO many more of those classes in the near future! I can’t wait to see how much strength I can build up with it here soon! I know one thing for sure is that I’m going to be extra sore tomorrow, but it was so worth it! Plus, it was such a fun way to wake up and sweat it out before the sun even comes up! It’s just such a different world than hitting the roads for a long run! Anyone else a big fan of spin classes?
Next on the Friday random train, I have been majorly winning when it comes to all things “Brinner“. Reason #1 being toast, of all flavors and tastes just like these:
>>Crunchy peanut butter with honey.
>>and avocado toast. Both are equally delicious and packed with the best flavors that we just can’t get enough of!
Next Brinner win belongs to these Puffin’s cereal bowls for dinner. Who else loves a good bowl of cereal for dinner sometimes? For some reason there are nights when the only thing that sounds good is a yummy bowl of cereal! Puffin’s is definitely one of my favorites, especially because it’s low sugar but still flavorful with the cinnamon mixed in.
We had to stock up on our kitchen staples the other day, so I had to hit up my favorite place. I’ve been frequenting Natural Grocer’s so much lately and I really don’t hate it. It’s my favorite grocery store right now and has taken the #1 spot away from Fresh Market and Whole Foods. They just have the best prices and the absolute BEST brands! I could spend forever just roaming around in there.
While I was there, I had to grab a few ingredients to make this Diary-Free, Gluten-Free and Vegan– BUT still delicious potato soup for dinner last night! It was SO good and will be making frequent appearances on our dinner table during the rest of the Winter months. Something about soup on a cold night just makes for the coziest of dinners. I love it!
Alrighty, that’s about enough randomness to share with you for today! If you’ve made it this far, I applaud you for hanging in there friend! 😉
I always find myself getting sucked into a variety of documentaries, whether they’re on Netflix or YouTube or anywhere else. The real-ness just draws me and I really just can’t get enough. My all time favorite type of documentaries are running ones! (Bet you couldn’t have ever guessed that, right?) So, I thought I’d share 5 of my favorite RUNNING documentaries with you today! I’d love for you to tell me what your favorite movies/binges/documentaries are in the comments below! Share away because I’m constantly compiling my list of future ones to watch!
1) The Barkley Marathon–(There are a bunch of different documentaries on this race, including one on Netflix too! This is a shorter version but still goes into great detail of the race itself, which is absolutely fascinating to me for so many reasons!
2) A Decade On-Brian Morrison’s story at the Western States
3) Break 2
4) Life In A Day (This Western States race is just amazing to me! I can’t even imagine what it’s like to do one!)
5) Run For Your Life New York Marathon
As I’m sharing these with you for today’s post, it seriously makes me want to re-watch every single of them! They’re all SO insanely good and interesting for all kinds of reasons! Also, if you’re lacking motivating right now, these will turn that train around and get you out the door running so fast–you won’t even know what happened! 😉
I hope you have the best Friday and start to your weekend!! Enjoy every last drop!
