Happy Tuesday friends! Today I have short and sweet recipe to share with you that I KNOW without a single doubt in my mind, that you’re going to LOVE!
Everyone I know has, in someway or another, caught a cold or even (GASP!) the flu in the past few weeks–including ME! I was sicker than sick about a month or so ago and have vowed ever since I recovered and FINALLY felt back to normal–that I was going to do everything possible to boost my immune system up! Team ANTI-COLD over here in my neck of the woods. Working from home doesn’t really do much when it comes to building up immunity while you’re not constantly surrounded by other people’s germs. When I went from my own germs to THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of germs in Chicago back in October–I was hit hard and knocked off my feet for nearly two whole weeks. I realized pretty quickly that looking at my diet though, I was definitely lacking in some areas of the whole “immune building” vitamins and minerals. That’s when I knew something HAD to change immediately.
After downing serious amounts of cold + flu meds, vitamin C, echinacea and zinc–I finally beat my cold. So, I decided that I wouldn’t wait until the next cold rolls on through to start getting these things into my system.
You guys know that I’m a sucker for a good smoothie (no matter the weather or season) because it’s the EASIEST way to throw in a bunch of healthiness and actually taste really good at the same time! Knowing that, I decided to come up with a highly packed Vitamin C immune boosting smoothie that I could have on a regular basis to keep myself as healthy and anti-cold as much as possible! Now, I know we can’t control all the things coming our way–but I can at least try in this particular area.
Here’s the recipe for my latest vitamin packed smoothie I’m loving and I know you will too!
What you’ll need:

1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

1 cup ice

1 cup greens (I used spinach)

1 handful frozen mixed berries
-
1 handful frozen blueberries
-
1 TBS tumeric
-
1 banana
Combine all the ingredients into your blender and mix for about a minute.
Serve & Enjoy!!
