Alright, alright, alright!! Who’s ready for another chocolate-y Chewsday Tuesday recipe? I’ve got the ultimate sweet treat for you today and I know you’re going to love every bite!
I’ve ALWAYS been a huge fan of peanut butter and apples. Anyone else? I could probably live off of those two things alone, really. Then, I decided to try a bite of chocolate with this combo and OH MAN–this sweet treat E X P L O D E D with deliciousness!! No seriously–you’ve got to try this one out ASAP! You wanna know my favorite part? I am all about some super simple quick recipes that you can throw together literally in minutes and this one hits it out of the park! The next best thing I’m in love with? Well, you most likely have almost every single ingredient in your cabinet already!
Yep, I call this one a double win in my book.
Let’s get to the good stuff, shall we?
Here’s what you’re going to need for these not-so-normal-but-oh-so-sweet nachos:
2-3 apples (depending on how many you’re serving!)
1-2 TBS drizzly peanut butter (or almond butter)
1 TBS coconut oil or coconut manna (butter)
1 handful chocolate chips
1 handful walnuts
*Optional: Coconut flakes
I used Enjoy Life Dark Chocolate Chips for mine. I absolutely LOVE that there are only 2 ingredients (YES, I said 2!) which are unsweetened dark chocolate and pure cane sugar. THAT’S ALL!! Another win in my book! They were $3.99 for this bag at Kroger! You can also find them here. These chips are not just extra delicious, but they’re even dairy free, gluten free, soy free and nut free!
If you don’t have coconut oil on hand, or prefer a thicker texture, you can definitely use Coconut Manna in this recipe too! Totally up to you and your taste buds! I just melted my coconut oil a little bit so that it would be a good drizzle-y texture.
*Random side note, but I like to buy our coconut oil at our local Home Goods store. They’re significantly cheaper than the grocery store and actually have a ton of different brands and types to choose from! The coconut oil I used was only $4.99 for the entire jar which is MUCH cheaper than Kroger or Whole Foods!
Alright, now to your quick and easy instructions for this bad boy recipe.
All you’ll do, is slice up your apples into thin bite-sized slices. If you have a mandolin handy, go for it and get to slicing those apples. I just used a knife for mine! Then, you’ll drizzle your (runny) peanut butter on top of the apples. I like crunchy peanut butter with mine, but creamy would work great here! Next, add your coconut oil or butter. Then sprinkle the top with your walnuts, chocolate chips and coconut flakes! TA-DAAAAAA! You’re done and ready to dive in! You didn’t really believe me when I said it was THAT easy, did you? I’m telling you, one of these days you’re going to believe me when I say it, because I’m always all over these quick and simple recipes that hit the spot within just a few minutes!
Now, go get to apple slicin’, and let me know how it goes! I can’t wait to hear how quickly you fall in love with these extra delicious sweet treat, my friend!
I’m diving in! What are you waiting for?
So, next time you’re craving something like….I don’t know….maybe an entire bag of Oreo’s–whip these nachos up instead! I promise, you won’t regret it!
Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday you guys!! Stay tuned for some Wednesday Randoms coming your way tomorrow!!
