I feel like it’s been so long since my last update, an intro is probably required. 😉 So, without further ado– Hi, my name is Chelsea and WELCOME to my blog! I’m so glad you’ve stopped by for a quick visit.
If I’m being completely honest with myself (and obviously you too!), the last half of 2019 was a complete F-L-O-P when it came to my blog. I absolutely dropped the ball once our house sold and am literally JUST now feeling human enough again to update you! Where did the time go?
I feel like that’s a good enough place to start–WE SOLD OUR HOUSE!
(Insert: happy dance!)
We blinked and House #5 came and went! And boy, was it a whirlwind of a sale. I feel like it deserves its very own blog post update. So, for the time being, I’ll just tell you that it went even BETTER than we could’ve imagined and we’re so excited to move onto our next project.
About that…we currently are back on the hunt for House #6 and the market isn’t giving us too much to work with as we speak. But, if there’s one thing we’ve learned in the real estate world, it’s that it can change in a matter of seconds. Literally. So, we’re browsing around the MLS constantly and keeping our eyes and ears peeled for the next great project to come our way. Fingers crossed, I’ll have a shiny new post for you soon with a reno under contract. I’ll keep ya posted! …No really. I promise!
We packed our bags in less than 2 weeks of listing the #culdesaccutie and moved out to the cutest little bungalow in one of our favorite neighborhoods in Little Rock.
We’re officially “Hillcrestians” or that’s what I like to call us, at least! 😉 This is a picture from the listing when we moved in–so it’s not the greatest, but we’re obsessed with our new home. It’s a cute 2 bed condo right in the heart of town and we couldn’t be happier we landed here. The archways are literally my favorite part of this place and I’m completely obsessed with the historic style.
Can we also just talk about the fact that the wall color is identical to the color we chose for our last house project? CRAZY, right? We’re big fans of the blues and gray tones if you can’t tell.
Anyways, this is our new home sweet home. We plan to stay here for a good while instead of moving into our next flip house. And they all said, Hallelujah! To say we’re excited would be an understatement. It’s really nice having a place of our own instead of having to worry about staging, packing up and not really feeling like our “home” is our home if that makes any sense.
Way back in the time machine, back to the holidays: We spent Thanksgiving at our favorite spot–The beach with sweet Nick’s family! It was pure heaven. If you haven’t ever been to Destin/Seaside/Rosemary Beach in Florida, I hope you’ll add it to your travel bucket list. It’s a slice of paradise and we’ve promised ourselves we’ll own a home there one day. We even got a tan in November, what’s better than that?
The weather this year was absolutely PERFECT! Nick’s cute nieces and nephews even went for a swim in the ocean a few of the days! It was warm and sunny every day we were there so we couldn’t have asked for anything better.
Speaking of nieces, we also got to spend a day with Brooklyn (my niece) during her Christmas break and we did ALL of the things. We went to the trampoline park (super fun, but I’ve never felt more like a grandma…HA!), made a stop at the Little Rock zoo for a bit, (train ride included), and got plenty of playtime with the pups too. These are the days that make the best memories and they never get old. Aunt life really is my favorite. Cooper was pretty pleased with the company too.
We celebrated our first Christmas in our new home! We’re “real tree” people and I love it. I’m also getting better and better at collecting Christmas decor each year so my collection is finally growing. Anyone else put candy canes on their Christmas trees? I don’t quite know why but it makes our tree feel so complete, not to mention smell extra Christmas-y. We spent Christmas morning just us and the pups and then headed over to my sister’s for the day.
I got to participate in a Holiday Sweat challenge with my favorite “Sweat Pink” girls on Instagram! The dogs got in on the action too! We were active in some way for at least 10 minutes every single day for 30 days from December first to New Years. It was SO much fun and really helped me stay motivated to get moving each day.
P.S. isn’t this stroller the best thing you’ve ever seen? Yep, I’m that dog mom and I’ve got no shame. 😉 I also introduced Nick to my favorite purple gym, Planet Fitness! He’s been my guest now several times and we both really love working out there. Their machines make me get out of my comfort zone that I normally wouldn’t ever try at other gyms and it’s just the best. Their massage chairs are still my favorite motivator for getting to the gym. HA! Do you spy Nick?
I scored the best prize box for completing my 30 day active challenge with Sweat Pink and got some seriously good stuff! I tried the Focus blend shot and it was even better than I expected! I still need to break into a few of the other treats they sent over.
And, last but not least–we got to cheer on our Hogs when they came to Little Rock for an early basketball game this season. It was SO much fun even though we were in the tip top seats of the place. They actually won and are having a great season so we’re happy Razorback fans this year. I’ll spare you from calling the hogs here. 😉
Speaking of this guy ^. We’re off to celebrate his birthday weekend! He’s the big 3-7 tomorrow and we’ve got big plans of heading over to my sister’s for movie night on the to-do list to kick things off.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Oh and I really do promise this time I’m sticking to my word with keeping this blog update more than just once every blue moon. Deal? Deal.
Talk soon, friend!
Questions for YOU:
It’s been so long since we got to catch up, so what’s new with you? How’s your 2020 going so far?
Do you cheer on your local sports team or not so much?
What’s on your weekend to-do list?
Woo Hoo Chelsea! Congrats on purchasing your first “forever” home (or at least forever longer than a flip)! I think the start of 2020 for everyone has been a tad crazy. I moved into my first place too right around Christmas and getting settled in has been an adventure in itself. Now to make the next 11 months of the year great! Can’t wait to hear about the conclusion of the flip for the culdesaccutie! 🙂
Thank you so much Lindsay!! I’m so excited for your big move too!! How neat! Are you liking it so far? I hope so!! Enjoy the rest of your day!
