I’m officially signed up for my first race of 2021! I’m going to do the Capital City Classic 10k (in-person, not virtual)! It’s in just a couple of weeks so I know it’ll be here so fast! Nick and I actually did this race a few years back so I already know the course which is always so much better to me. I know sometimes its better when you don’t know how much longer you have or what the next turn is, but the familiarity of how hard to push and when is definitely my favorite part of local races. It’s super flat though which I’m extra thankful for since it’s been a LONG time since my last race. (2019!!)

I’ve stepped up my run classes with One Peloton lately to include more “Endurance Runs” which is usually between 3-4.5 miles in about 45 minutes. It’s made all the difference in helping me build up my base so I feel like I’ll be able to tackle the 10k. Well, that’s as long as the weather cooperates. 🙂 I’ll still keep doing a few of the HIIT and Hills classes too to help build up my legs because those are usually just 20 minutes but make for a really good workout too!

I also made the switch to AirPods and WOW! What a difference they make. I was trying to do some strength workouts at the gym with my wired headphones and it’s just impossible trying to hold onto my phone, make sure I don’t pull the cord out of my ears on accident, and move the weights around. So, these are a total game changer for me! I’m so late to the game because I know most of everyone has had them for years now! I totally get the hype now. Also, I got the cutest case so that I won’t get them confused with Nicks around the house!

Still going strong with my fruity granola bowls for breakfast! The more berries, the better!

Spring allergies survival kit.

Arkansas Basketball has made it into the SWEET 16 of NCAA tournament! Our team has officially made March Madness even better this year! They’re so fun to watch! I can’t wait to see if they make it to the elite 8! Fingers crossed!!

I got to get crafty this past weekend with a family trip to Board & Brush to wrap up my niece’s 13th birthday celebrations! We celebrate for weeks in our family. 🙂 It’s the cutest place where you pick out a design to add to some sort of wooden sign or accessory! It was so much fun and I went with this cute coffee table tray! It turned out MUCH better than I thought because I’m the least crafty person ever, but their stencils are magic!
Time for this week’s Trader Joe’s haul! We are trying to get in more veggies so these should definitely do the trick!
Out of this batch, I plan on making all the protein bowls, prepped/chopped veggies for snacks, turkey burgers/beef burgers with sides of roasted potatoes and asparagus, seafood dinners with sides of sautéed veggie mixes, and loaded green smoothies for breakfast/post-workout snacks. I’m determined to eat ALL of these greens by the end of the week.

Alright, I’m off to start my work day! I’ve been busy, busy, busy which is why I’ve been a little quiet here on the blog. But, I’ll be back tomorrow morning with a new post on my spring workout schedule!
See you then!
Questions for you:
What grocery store do you visit the MOST?
Are you a crafty person?
Any other March Madness fans? If you are, who are you rooting for this year to make it all the way?

OMG I don’t know how I made it through the day before airpods! I use them for everything from workouts to all of my calls at work now. Welcome to the club!
And how exciting that you have a real race on the calendar. You’ll crush it.
YES! They’re seriously the best invention and now I can’t imagine life without them! LOL!
And THANK YOU!!! I am just crossing my fingers and toes for good weather! 🙂
Hope you have an amazing weekend!
