Hi friends! Happiest of Fridays to you! How has your week been? I hope you’ve had a good one! It’s been a little crazy on my end, but that’s become somewhat the norm! 😉 I’m LOVING the sunshine we’ve had the past few days so that’s really all a girl could need, right? Right!
We’re in the thick of looking for a new home to renovate and actually had a few offers down on some this past week. They didn’t work out for us the way we hoped, but I’m a firm believer in what’s meant to be will find a way. We just know those houses weren’t the ones meant for us, so another good one will hopefully come our way really soon! Our lease is up too on the rental we’re living in over the next few months, so trying to find somewhere new to live is also on our minds. If you’re new around the blog, we renovate houses and usually live in the homes we’re working on. Well, the last house we sold left us living in an apartment and that’s where we’ve been since about June of 2018. I love getting to experience new places to live, but moving a few times a year can get a bit tricky (with 2 furry children that is). I’m hoping we can nail something good down in the next few weeks though and finally get settled into somewhere for a good while. Oh the life of living through home renovations as your J-O-B! 🙂 It’s never boring, that’s for sure!
In other news, today is the LAST Friday of January which means it’s time for the first Runfessions post of the year! What in the world are runfessions, you ask? Well, this is the day that me and my fellow runner/fitness loving blogger friends get to “runfess” or share any and all things running related going on in our world!
Want to jump into the runfessional with me? Let’s get to it!
Today, I runfess…
I am ready for Spring running weather! This cold weather is for the birds! I’m 100% sure face nearly froze off the other day on one of our walks down by the river. I had two ear warmers on AND a hat and STILL felt like a real life ice queen at the end. No bueno. So, I’ve been logging nothing but treadmill miles for what seems like forever. I am a cold weather wimp because in the South 30 degrees and outdoor running = not happening. Treadmill it is for the next little while for this runner girl.
Throwback to the warm and sunshine-y miles…
I runfess….
I tried a new treadmill the other day at the gym and nearly died 1 mile in. Okay, that’s probably a tiny bit dramatic BUT in all reality, the “air runner” is no joke! Have you ever seen one of these? Please tell me I’m not alone when I say that was THE hardest mile I’ve ever run because that is nothing like a normal treadmill. We just got a whole row of new air runners in at the gym so I decided to hop on and give it a try! WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE THOSE EVIL MACHINES?! They feel so different because you set the pace of your speed, whether that’s fast walking, running or just pure survival. It’s much more roomy and open than a normal treadmill because the screen is tiny and then you just have the two rails on the side of you. I’m going to keep attempting it to see if it gets any easier, but I’m just throwing it out there that if you run on these regularly for longer than a mile–I applaud you! What balance and strength you have that I’m clearly lacking! 🙂

I runfess…
I need to do this more often. Compression socks + legs up the wall= the best post-run or workout recovery! I usually grab a book or my phone to scroll through Pinterest for about 10-20 minutes. Every time I get done I always tell myself to add this to my post-workout recovery routine at least 3 times a week. I’m putting it here for accountability to do this a lot more often, k? Thanks in advance!
Alright, now that I’ve runfessed all things running, I want to know–
What do you have to runfess? What’s going on in your running world lately? Share with me in the comments below!
