Hey friends! Happy, happy Wednesday to you! How has your week been so far? Productive? Not so much? Either way, I hope it’s been good up to this point for you! My week so far has been pretty great all around! I’m loving my new job and learning SO MUCH every day so I’m just soaking it all in right now. I feel like a sponge just absorbing all of the knowledge and things that go on throughout the work day. But, so far so good! 🙂
I’ve got a healthy dose of randoms to share with you today, so here we go!
I took full advantage of the weekend and soaked up all of the gym time I could both Saturday and Sunday. I was successful with a good speed workout that felt really strong, but also gave me some spots I realized I need to really focus in on. For my workout, I ran the first .90 mile at 9:30 pace, then the last .10 I increased my speed to 8:00/mile pace. Then, I walked for 1 minute. The second mile, I ran .90 at 9:00 pace and sped up that last .10 to 8:00/mile again. Then, that very last mile I ran it at 8:00 pace. So, overall I was proud of myself for pushing pretty hard after taking a pretty long running hiatus. But, I have hopes to keep up my strength training so my speed can really increase soon! I feel like I’ve been saying that forever, but I’m all in this time around. I feel like I’ve got my mind in the game these days and I’m ready to see what all I can do over the next few months when it comes to running and strength training. I’m really excited to see some progress!
This song really kept my legs moving! I love Florence & The Machine so much so I get extra excited when one of their songs comes on during my workouts.
On Sunday, I really focused on stretching post-workout. I spent a good 20 minutes stretching out and foam rolling. For some reason, I always feel so much more motivated to sit down for my cool down and really stretch everything out. It’s the best! I can’t say the same for my at-home runs…Not sure what the reasoning behind that is though…
Meanwhile…Cooper thinks sleep > gym workouts. 😉
We also squeezed in some outside time at our favorite, Two Rivers park. I feel like I have a million of this same picture on my phone, but those tall trees never get old. This is my favorite part of the park, for sure!
Starbucks got me through the first half of this work week too, as we ran out of coffee at home. Blonde Vanilla Latte’s are my favorite!
Oh, and a random chocolate cake to celebrate my first full week back into the 8-5 world definitely went down this weekend! 🙂 No shame in our chocolate loving game!
Alright, I’m off for a little bit of yoga to wind down the day! This Yoga with Adriene session is calling my name today!
Enjoy the rest of your day!! We’ll catch up again soon!
