Happiest of Mondays and the first work day of Spring Forward time! (YAY!) How was your day today? I hope it was a great start to the new week! The extra daylight this afternoon was welcomed with wide open arms in our house! Bring on the longer days, Spring/Summer! We’re ready for ya!
We had a BIG day and I can’t wait to share with you all about it tomorrow on the blog! (P.S. ignore any and all typos in today’s post because as I’m writing in now, I’m exhausted from our extra crazy busy day! ;)) Today’s post is all about the weekend though, so let’s rewind it back a few days, k?
Saturday morning in the great state of Arkansas was quite a mess all around! We had tornados, sirens and the whole shebang all in the morning and beautiful abundant sunshine by 2:00PM. Mother Nature was a bit moody, but she totally made up for it Saturday afternoon because we got outside and soaked in all the gorgeous sun we could get. Anyone else over the “Spring” showers already when “Spring” hasn’t even started just yet? I know I am! The dogs are super over being cooped up inside too! We LIVE for Vitamin D-filled days at our house if you can’t tell! 😉
We started off the morning watching the news/radar and once the storms passed, I turned on my favorite Food Network show, “The Kitchen”.
My kitchen wasn’t near as exciting though, but still just as yummy as I served myself up a bowl of honey nut Cheerios with almond milk.
Then, it was time to head to the gym for arm day! I’ve started bringing my 50-ounce water bottle with me to the gym and try to drink at least half while I’m there! It’s such a good way to get in my water for the day and get hydrated for my workout at the same time!
After the gym, it was time for lunch which was “Annie’s” form of Spaghetti o’s. I thought they sounded so good when I saw them at the store and I was completely right because they were delicious! Brought me back to childhood!
Post-lunch, we decided to go for a quick walk down by the river because it was too pretty to stay inside after such a rainy morning.
As soon as we finished up a few errands Saturday afternoon, we headed out to my sister’s house in Cabot for the night to grab dinner and watch a movie (we watched “Tag) with them! We decided on David’s Burgers for dinner and their ice cream was a big hit! This little scoop was the perfect treat to end our meal with!
We got home super late because of the time change and fell asleep in record time. Apparently, the sugar bug hit me this weekend because warmed cookies for breakfast with my morning coffee made for the perfect combo!
They were these cookies below, FYI and they are to die for! Seriously, head to your nearest Natural Grocers ASAP and get yourself a package! SOOOO good and perfectly yummy when you warm them in the microwave for 10 seconds before you dive into the goodness!
We headed out to Cabot again Sunday because Nick and my brother-in-law signed up for a men’s basketball league together and had their first practice! Needless to say, we were more than starving when we got back to Little Rock late afternoon and ran to the nearest Newk’s for our regular salads and sandwich to re-fuel! Kevita + Newk’s Simply Salad = Perfect lunch in my book!
Then, we wrapped up Sunday with a trip to Home Depot to stock up on cleaning supplies and tools for our big day, today!! There’ll be plenty more where this came from for the next little while. 😉
And just like that, our weekend was done for! Hopefully, you enjoyed yours and the time change didn’t do too much of a number on your sleep! We noticed it a bit today, but overall if I had to choose–I’d always choose Spring forward time versus Fall back!
Oh, and my mom gave these to me over the weekend and I can’t wait to give them a try! Anyone had these before? Thoughts?
Be sure to check in tomorrow because I’ve got a super exciting post coming your way! Any guesses what it could be?
