Good Morning & happy, happy Wednesday to you!! I feel like I may say this pretty often, but is anyone else just constantly in shock at how fast this year is flying by, already?! APRIL is THIS weekend? No way!! It’s already been a whirlwind of a year, and we’re just 3 months in. I can’t wait to see what happens as the next 3 months unfold. While, I know it’ll be here faster than we know it, I want to try to soak in the next month with everything I can, as we burst into Summer here really soon.
Sidenote: I hope you’re having a fabulous week! Thank you so much, as always, for stopping by the blog today! I hope you leave here a little bright than when you opened up the page! 🙂 Have a fabulous day, friends!
It’s the last Wednesday of March and that means it’s time to link up with Mel, Sheaffer and Shay for “What’s Up Wednesday”! What is “What’s Up Wednesday” you ask? Good question! It’s a once a month Q & A post with my fellow bloggers in the blogosphere sharing extra fun and random things going on with us at the current moment! You guys know I’m all about sharing randoms so this post is definitely a favorite of mine each month! Feel free to play along and join in on the fun and link up with us!
Each month we answer these questions….
So, let’s just jump right in, shall we?
1) What’s we’re eating this week:
Plenty of Halo Top, per the usual. I also tried “Pho” for the first time yesterday for a work lunch during a meeting. It was totally different than I’m used to, but I was really glad to try something new! I’m not the biggest fan of onions, though. I’m still trying to get a good plan going for meal prep during the week so that lunch and dinner won’t take much thought, the day of. I’m definitely going to be giving either “Hello Fresh” or “Blue Apron” a try really soon! I’ll definitely let you know what I think on it!
2) What I’m reminiscing about:
I’d say, here lately, I’m definitely reminiscing about my sweet senior dogs and their previously more active lifestyles. With being gone now most of the day with my new job, I’ve really been missing them SO much!! Now, don’t get me wrong–Cooper has never been Mr. Active Might Dog, by any means. He is lazy to his core. But, they’re both definitely slowing down more, which has it’s pro’s–I’m not going to lie. However, it’s getting more and more apparent that their little legs are getting older and moving around isn’t as easy as it used to be for them. Cooper is 10 and Joey is 14, which isn’t young in the dog world. I’m going to need to find some way to inject some Benjamin Button life into these two so that this isn’t a problem anymore. Anyone know where I can find some?
(PS, if you’re new to the blog–Joey, our Jack Russell, has to wear a cone because of severe skin allergies. His skin get so irritated, to the point of bleeding, almost instantly when we take his cone off. We’ve tried EVERYTHING, and this has been our best solution. He uses it more now as a comfort blanket, as he’s had it for years, and doesn’t like taking it off at this point.
3) What I’m loving:
I’m loving finding new ways to get in my workout routine. So far this week, I’m been awake at 5AM for some morning yoga and exercise which feels REALLY good! I’ve also been taking advantage of my weekends and making Saturday my new favorite day of the week. We’ve been heading to the gym a lot more, which I’m excited to finally be getting back into, as well! We’ve had a ton of change lately, but I’d say this has been our best change yet. Something about finding a good solid routine and sticking to it, sure feels nice. Especially when it comes to our health and wellness!
4) What we’ve been up to:
Update on the house:
We’re still waiting on our perfect buyer to come along. This has been the longest house we’ve had on the market, (a month and a half so far) but that’s okay! We’re loving this house, just as much as we did when we first got into it, so we’re just trying to go with the flow!
Update on the job:
Still learning a TON every day, and still adjusting the new schedule of 8-5, and still really liking it overall!
5) What I’m dreading:
The allergy season of Spring. Don’t get me wrong–I LOVE Spring for a variety of reasons, but just not for the allergies that come along with it. Pollen has already been collecting here, which really stinks, but what are ya’ gonna do? At least, it comes with beautiful blooms, right?
6) What I’m working on:
I’m working on strength training a lot more. Like I mentioned above, I’ve been getting in the gym a lot more and I’m loving the progress I’ve had so far! I still have a long ways to go, but it always makes the biggest difference to me when it comes to my running! I’m thinking with a combination of yoga, strength training, and running that they’ll all compliment each other A LOT, which is just what the doctor ordered! 🙂
7) What I’m excited about:
We have some pretty fun weekend trips planned here soon and I can’t wait to get started with them. We plan on traveling around the state for some Spring camping and exploring, which will be so much fun! I’ll make sure and take you along for each one, k? 😉
8) What I’m watching/reading:
Last night we watched a movie called “Inconcievable” on Netflix. It was INSANE and one of those movies where you can’t believe what you just saw at the end. It somewhat felt like a Lifetime movie, and the acting wasn’t just too fabulous overall. BUT, it was still decently made.
I’m reading “Present over Perfect” for my March Book of the Month! I’m loving it so far and can’t wait to keep diving deeper into it with each chapter.
9) What I’m listening to:
Well, my current read of the month is in audiobook form, so I am listening to that. As far as music goes, I’m listening to a lot of Michael Kiwanuka and LOVING every one of his songs. If you’ve never heard of him, check him out on Spotify or Pandora! He sings the theme song to “Big Little Lies”, which is where I found him in the first place.
10) What I’m wearing:
I’ve decided to ignore some of the chilly days and embrace sandals. They’re so much more comfortable and easy than having to throw on socks and boots and all that jazz. I’ve also been wearing a lot more dressy clothes, as this new office job doesn’t consist of hanging out in yoga clothes all the day long. 😉
11) What I’m doing this weekend:
We have a family get together planned for Friday night at Nick’s sister’s house, which is always a lot of fun! Then, of course, it’s Easter weekend! So, we’ll be celebrating on Sunday with my family! I’m also going to squeeze in a good running working and some strength training!
12) What I’m looking forward to next month:
I’m really looking forward to some in-state traveling, warmer weather, the calm before the Summer-time storm, and just a new month with new goals to tackle!
13) What else is new?
Well, we are looking for a rental property to move into so that we can avoid living in the renovation projects as we go! So, that’s really exciting! I’m also planning on at least one 5k in the next month, and maybe a 10k too! Nick and I both are really getting busy with work lately, so we’ve been really intentional with spending quality time together, unplugged! As a blogger, it can be a bit tricky to unplug more often than you’re used to, but it really does feel good to focus in on the moment and soak it all in as much as possible. Speaking of the blogging world, I do have some really yummy recipes planned for April to share with you guys, as well as a few new workouts to share too! Other than that, nothing too crazy going on here in our neck of the woods!
