Happy last Wednesday of the month!
I can’t believe we’re already closing out October! Wasn’t it just the first day of Fall just a second ago?
To celebrate the end of this whirlwind of a month, I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for ‘What’s Up Wednesday’! These are some of my favorite posts to do so let’s get right into it! Let’s chat all things October!
- What’s we’re eating this week:
I’m going to whip up a version of this red hot apple cider for the first time (Inspired by my sister!) + trying out these three-ingredient cookies I came across on IG!

2. What I’m reminiscing about:
Trick-or-treating with my cute niece! She’s 13 now and dressing up for most likely her last Halloween as Willy Wonka. If only we could rewind back to her tiny little ladybug days! Time slow down!!

3. What I’m loving:
I’m loving so many things this month but here are my top 3 today:
Getting back into vlogging! I love putting together quick little snapshot videos of our random adventures and have been loving getting back into the swing of things of my channel! My goal is to get one video up a week to get geared up for Vlogmas this December! I think it’ll be so much fun celebrating the holiday season by the beach this year!
I’m obsessed with having these calm scenes on in the background on YouTube while I work or read at night! They’re just so cozy and festive!
I’m also equally loving ending our afternoons with walks to the beach, Cooper in tow in his backpack!

4. What we’ve been up to:
We’ve been spending a majority of our days getting settled into our new apartment, working, and squeezing out every ounce of sunshine from the last bit of warm days here in Florida! It’s starting to cool down just a bit (Hello Fall!) so I know we don’t have many more afternoons to spend soaking in the sun, but until then you can find us here or on the beach as often as we can! We can’t wait to experience our first Winter season here! We’ve heard there aren’t a ton of seasonal changes like there are in Arkansas so it’ll be interesting to see over the next few weeks/months!

5. What I’m dreading:
Right now, I’d have to say I’m dreading going to the DMV to register our car here. Is anyone ever excited about going there? I’m guessing not. I always feel like I’m going to get there, wait in line forever, and then find out I forgot a piece of paper that’s needed or something. It’s the worst!
6. What I’m working on:
I’m working on getting better at tennis! We’re lucky to have a huge tennis court less than a mile from us now so we’ve been trying to go once a week for a 30-minute session. It’s so exhausting but so fun at the same time! I’m seriously considering signing up for lessons but I feel like I need to practice before I start those. HA! If that doesn’t tell you how bad at it I am, I’m not sure what does…
7. What I’m excited about:
I’m really excited for the holiday season to get started! It does seem like it starts earlier and earlier each year though, doesn’t it? I can’t wait to get our Christmas tree and new decorations up this year! I’ve heard World Market is the place to go for all things cute Christmas decor!
8. What I’m listening to:
I’m loving Amos Lee Radio on Spotify right now! Oh, and I may or may not have been jamming out to a few Christmas songs the other day. No shame!
9. What I’m wearing:
All the cozy socks. Always. They really are the way to my heart.
10. What I’m doing this weekend:
This weekend, we’re heading over to Watersound Origins for a local 5k! My favorite part is that I’m bringing Cooper in his stroller so he can “run” his first-ever 5k with me! You’d think at 13 years old he would have done this before but it’s our first race together and I can’t wait. It’s a flat course because otherwise, I’d reconsider this decision. HA! We also got tickets for a film festival on Saturday night that accompanies the race so it should be super fun too! Bring on the weekend!

11. What I’m looking forward to next month:
We head to the beach every Thanksgiving with Nick’s family and this year we’re headed to Gulf Shores. It’s always the best time and we’re already counting down the days to get together with his sweet family.

12. What else is new:
I’m considering registering for a Hello Fresh account so that I can mix things up in the kitchen with some fun new recipes. I’ve heard nothing but great things about it but I just can’t decide if it’s worth it. Have you tried any of the meal delivery kits before? If so, what are your favorites? Did it help you come up with new ideas for recipes/meals?
That’s a wrap on this month’s What’s Up Wednesday! Drop a comment down below with what’s up in your world lately! Anything you’ve been loving or have going on in your life right now? Let’s chat!
Talk soon!
XOXO – Chelsea
We had a few friends and family using Hello Fresh and they ended up ending their subscription because they have been having so many shipping delays that quite a few of their ingredients were expired by the time they showed up. (We do live in a very rural area though so I can’t say that’s everyone’s experience). That poolside photo looks amazing. Hope you enjoy your first winter in Florida.
I’m belatedly catching up on my “What’s Up Wednesday” reading. I love the idea of Willy Wonka as a costume. My son dressed up as Rick Astley this year and, given that he’s 12, I know his trick or treating days are numbered. Also, we gave my best friend a subscription to Hello Fresh for her birthday and she said it’s been a game changer for them.
