Just like that, the first holiday of the Fall season is behind us. Can you believe it? I hope you guys had a fantastic Halloween! Fingers crossed you’re not suffering too bad from the candy hangover.
Let’s rewind back to yesterday morning. I’ve been working extra hard the past few weeks to keep working my way up to being a “morning” workout person. So yesterday was my earliest run session to date. I had coffee and then changed and headed out the door! It felt SO good to be done with my run before the rest of my day even thought about starting! By the end of the day it seemed like my run was forever ago! I’m definitely getting the hang of this early morning start thing. Thank goodness for the Miracle Morning!! If you haven’t read my post about that, you can check it out here. Also, who wants to guess how many shades of pink I fit into this outfit? 😉
After my run, we headed to the store so I could grab my ingredients for the Halloween Rice Krispies I was making for trick-or-treating! (As if we needed anymore sweets! ha!) They sure weren’t super glamorous but they tasted divine! I suspect they’ll be making another appearance here soon. I was wanting to use purple sprinkles but couldn’t find them ANYWHERE?! What’s the deal Target? So, gold, silver and white sprinkles had to suffice. Do you spy a furry set of eyes in this picture? He just wanted to give them a try to make sure they weren’t poison…but I went ahead and took care of that for him instead. They were fabulous!
Then, it was time to head over to my sister’s house for trick-or-treating! My niece was Joker’s girlfriend, Harley Quinn, which I had no idea who that was. But, isn’t she just the cutest? I’m pretty positive though that she needs to stop growing up any day now. I can’t figure out how she got to be this big already?
Next up, candy sorting time. I have trained her since her first ever trick-or-treating night, that I take the Skittles candy tax each year. It worked like a charm again this year because I racked up in the Skittles department! Nick said he would like to take a Snickers tax so he scored a ton too! Brooklyn and her friends said they didn’t want theirs because they were “too sweet”. Can you believe that? I just assume that their taste buds haven’t fully developed yet. 😉 Crazy kids. Halloween sure was fun though despite the cold and dreary weather we had. We made up for it though and came back to chips and dip and hot dogs, with of course our rice krispie treat dessert with a side of candy.
In other random news, I’m loving all of these gorgeous Fall colors popping up everywhere. I saw this tree on my run and had to take a quick picture! Can’t the trees just stay this color 365 days a year?
Speaking of things lasting year round, anyone else diving head first into apple season? We always go through serious amounts of apples this time of year and love every second of it. Not to mention, the mass amounts of crunchy peanut butter to dip on the side!
Also, how sad is it that the highlight (Or should I say high-Lowe 🙂 ;)) of our week was getting to check out the new Lowe’s location in West Little Rock the other day? This is just super exciting for us because we’ve been driving about 15 minutes away to the North Little Rock location for years now, which is just more of a hassle than anything else. We were like two kids on Christmas waiting for it to open! You would’ve thought we’d never even been to one before with all the wondering around we did! It’s not like it was anything we hadn’t seen, but it was just so shiny and new! Ha! We may or may not have ended up leaving my purse in the car on accident due to pure excitement and got to the checkout line sans wallet. Oops! Seriously, this all just tells me we’re super old now and need new hobbies in our life STAT. Especially considering we went here on a weekend night.
Last but not least, these two had a bath party the other night. Somehow, someway– no matter how much we cover things up or keep them out of the painting projects, SOMEONE ends up with paint in their fur. This is just a fact of life when it comes to having parents who flip houses, I guess. Their hair is magnetic to paint or something, I just know it!
Yep, that’s definitely a guilty paw print. We caught them gray-handed. BAHAHA!
Questions for YOU: (Comment below with your thoughts!)
What’s your favorite apple flavor?
Honey crisps are my favorite, but they’re $4.99 a pound right now at Fresh Market which is just crazy! But, they are definitely the most flavorful in my book! So, so good!
Crunchy or creamy peanut butter?
What color do you wear the most?
I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your hump day!!!
