Hey guys! Happy, happy Monday! I hope you had a really great weekend! It was an extra cold and somewhat dreary one in Arkansas, but I’m not complaining one bit! We took it nice and slow (especially Sunday) and it was very much appreciated. Although, I do have to admit that I’m a tiny bit sad we didn’t see even a hint of a snowflake despite the below freezing temps and rain this weekend. HOW is that even possible? I’m pretty sure Mother Nature has kicked us off the snowy Winter list for some reason. Not even a single snow day this Winter…weird!
Anyways, this weekend was a BIG one here in Little Rock because it was the Little Rock Marathon! Woo Hoo!! You better believe that I was glued to the screen watching and tracking all of the racers. It was so much fun and I can’t wait to get out there next year for the 1/2 marathon! It’s been TOO long for me! Alright, alright more on that in a little bit.
Let’s jump right on into this weekend’s recap, shall we? Let’s go!
Rewind back to Friday: I had SO much fun for our girl’s night with a few girls I used to work with. We started from the beginning on “Making a Murderer” because one of the girls hadn’t seen it yet. Crazy, right? It was so weird watching it back from the beginning but so good. If you haven’t seen that show, it’s a MUST SEE! (If you’re into True Crime, that is.) Anyways, I brought along a few treats and Cooper was a tiny bit jealous to see some of his favorite Smart Sweets leave him. I think I ate half my weight in candy that night. No shame in my game! True crime + sweets + wine = my favorite kind of girl’s night!
Saturday morning started off with a warm cup of coffee in my favorite mug!
We decided on Chipotle for lunch! It hit the spot, as always.
It was a rest day, so no gym for us! This guy too.
Then, it was time to head to the store to grab necessities for the cutest 11 year old in my family, my niece Brooklyn! Her birthday party was Saturday night and I brought her favorite treats (with birthday sprinkles) to her party! I’m thinking I’ll add this recipe to the blog soon because these rice krispies turned out SOOOO good! We also like to make handmade cards and this year’s was a triple decker. 😉
Her party was at the cutest place in Cabot called “Fired Up” where you get to decorate your own pottery pieces! She had so much fun and all of the girls pieces turned out so good!
Sunday morning started off with another cup of coffee + the Little Rock Marathon! They had a Facebook Live going so I watched almost the entire thing all morning long. I LOVE watching races, especially ones that I know a few of the elites that are running in them. I can’t wait to watch the Boston Marathon really soon!! The weather couldn’t have been worse for the runners though with below freezing temps and TONS of cold rain. I normally go watch this one in person, but decided to stay home, dry and warm this year. I don’t regret my decision, either. 😉
Once the race was over, we headed to grab some lunch at Newk’s. Same salad last weekend too! Their ham sandwiches are really good and made the perfect side to my salad.
After lunch, we headed to the store to get a few essentials because we planned on staying inside the rest of the day. Fresh Market for the win!
All the hydration, all weekend long!
We were super lazy the rest of the day (naps included!) and wrapped up Sunday with the documentary “Muir”. It was really good! We loved “Free Solo” and this one came in at a close second! If you haven’t watched it, you definitely need to add it to your watch list.
This weekend was a really good one filled with family time, sweet treats, girls night and race watching. What more could a girl ask for?!
Tonight, we’re headed out for a family birthday dinner to celebrate Brooklyn’s actual birthday that’s today! Sushi, here we come!
Enjoy the rest of your Monday, friends! Let’s catch up again really soon!
