CHEERS to 2019! Happiest of New Years to you, friend! I hope your very first day of this shiny new year has been wonderful in every way!
We brought in the New Year with a cozy night at home, which might be my favorite way to celebrate ALL of the things. We celebrated at 11 when the ball dropped on T.V. for EST but decided to really push our limit and hang out until 12 to celebrate in Central time too! What crazy kids, right? It was perfect, though!
I’m all for fresh starts and new beginnings, which just so happens to go hand in hand with today’s NY holiday. Are you into making resolutions lists? I saw a great idea today of creating a bucket list alongside your resolutions list. This would include places you’d like to visit in the upcoming year, goals you’d like to cross off your list and anything else that’s been lingering on your bucket list up to this point.
Today, I thought I’d keep the tradition going with creating a list of goals + intentions for the next 12 months. You can see my goals and intentions for 2018, here.
I’d say the biggest goal on my list this year would definitely be to seek joy in all things. I don’t want to let stress get the best of me any longer than possible, so my goal is to keep joy at the top of my priority list. I’ve learned SO much in the last 12 months about listening to my gut and knowing where I need to be to find (and feel) my happiest.
I’d also like to seek new adventures and keep the travel bug going for us. We had such a blast traveling to around 11 places in 2018 this past Fall, and we couldn’t have had more fun doing it! It was so exciting to see the new places along the East coast which left us hungry for more traveling. We have California and Washington on our list for the next year, so here’s hoping we can at least mark those two off our list. I’d love to rent a car and travel down the West coast sometime really soon!
Another on-going goal for myself is to get that sub 2 half-marathon under my belt. I thought I’d get to it this year, but life happened and I never got to cross that half-marathon finish line. Along with my health and wellness goals, I’d like to add more yoga in. I bought 5 classes from a local yoga studio that expire in the next few weeks, so I’m super excited to get back into the studio for some hot yoga! There’s just something so refreshing to me about sweating out those toxins with hot yoga! I feel like running + yoga are the perfect combination!
I’ve jumped on board with organizing lately and I can’t say I hate it one bit. It’s been SO nice to get rid of things that I don’t need anymore by making donations to some local charities. I’d like to bring more of that to the next 12 months too!
A VERY simple little goal of mine, which may be extra silly–but has officially made the list–would be to stay on top of my laundry! HA! It gets me every week where I get SO behind and end up folding a mile high pile of clothes. I’m trying to make myself do at least one whole load every other day. You’d think we had more than 2 people living in our house with all the laundry we come up with! Nonetheless, it’s a goal of mine to knock laundry off my to-do list as much as possible!
Overall though, my intention list looks just like this:

As far as my “word” for 2019, I’m going with “give“. I’d love to be able to spread joy through thoughtfulness, even in the smallest of ways.
As I’ve said before, “Here’s to living life to the fullest, chasing dreams bigger than ever before, growth in all areas to dig deeper roots, and taking advantage of EVERY LAST DROP in the new year! Bring it on!“
Here’s to 2019! I’m sending ALL of the positive vibes your way and hoping you get to chase down your wildest dreams in the coming months!
